Class Announcements

Class of 1999
Margaret & Evelyn set to meet soon and discuss Senior Week.
Demetre is planning to have Friday afternoon social hours every week starting in April

Class of 2000
The class was very happy with the Bombay Palace Christmas Party.

Class of 2001
Organization of groups for Physical Diagnosis has begun.
A Clerkship lottery packets should be available for the holidays.

Class of 2002
Still accepting constructive ideas for the cadaver memorial service.
Joe has taken over scheduling the CPR class.

Old Business:

NYU All-University Games: Greg said that positions for the NYU All-University Games to be held Feb 11th are filling up. We still need Rock-Paper-Scissors players

Fishbowl: The Fishbowl misunderstanding has continued. Eric will meet with Ethan (who negotiated the deal), Dean Lesser and Dr. Oppenheim to sort out the confusion.

New Business:

Hunter Request: Student Council voted 14-1-1 (for, against, abstain) to allow the Remnant Presbyterian Church to use the Hunter gym facility on Sundays from 1pm-3pm for basketball. Conditions of the deal include: One of the players must have an NYU student ID, usage will only include basketball, other students are allowed to join games when appropriate and NYU has the right to discontinue use. Dean Scotch will write the letter to the Hunter facility to grant access.

Housing: Housing has notified us of a 3% increase in rent coming soon

Wiring of Skirball: Wiring of Skirball is estimated to cost $150,000-200,000. Dr. Nachbar would like us to send them a formal request to look into wiring again before they can re-estimate the cost.

Security in the residence halls: Students have complained about Security issues in the residence halls, most specifically Skirball. Eric will write a letter to security enumerating some of the problems.

Mental Status: Demetre and Brian are starting work on Mental Status and would like Class Presidents to write articles about what their class is doing. In addition, could class representatives write about class activities? If any clubs or organizations wish to write articles they are also welcome. Anonymous articles will not be published. The deadline for articles will be announced soon.

Party: First and Second years stay tuned for a party on the afternoon of Dec 22nd after exams.

Harm Reduction Alliance Budget: Student Council voted 9-6-0 (for, against, abstain) to give the Harm Reduction Alliance two IOI dinners for the remainder of the year. They will also come before the student council to explain the remainder of the their budget.
