The first of 3 Deans/Discussion meetings for fourth year students will take place on Dec.14 from 5-6pm in the Student Cafeteria. The other meetings will occur in January.
The fourth year class event for this month will be ice skating.
ACLS sign-up was very successful. The only ACLS training dates left to sign up for are April 18 and April 20. Deb has put up a wait-list sign up sheet on the Student Council Bulletin Board for those students who would like to change the date they have.
Class of 2001
There will be a class meeting on Dec.14 in Schwartz F starting at 6:30. Dinner will follow in FDR at 8:00. Dean Cantanese and Ms. Maureen Doran will be there. Sample CVs, packets, and new timelines for the class of 2001 will be handed out at the meeting.
There will be two dinners in February that Student Council is helping to sponsor. A lawyer named Kevin Porter will talk about Medical Malpractice on Jan.19 from 6:30-8:00 in the FDR. He will come again on Jan.26 to talk about Health Regulatory Law. This meeting will take place on Jan.26 from 6:30-8:00 in the Student Cafeteria.

Class of 2003
MD/PhD
The MD/PhD program congratulates Adam Hitteoman for successfully defending his thesis.
There will be a symposium sponsored by Cornell's MD/PhD program in early spring on Long Island. Volunteers are needed to help organize this event. Contact David or Jeremy.
Sean/Library Sub-committee update - Brian and Sean discussed ways to improve upon our library and on increasing our study space. There will be another meeting next week (week of Dec.13).
Nicole/Rubin Lounge - Nicole requested use of Rubin Lounge as a back-up place to have the class of 2002 meeting on Dec.14 from 8-10pm. No one objected to her request.
Dean Abramson/Y2K - In case of the worst possible scenario happening at the start of the new millenium, Dean Abramson requests that as many third and fourth year students that can, volunteer to help out at Bellevue Hospital.
Nicole - A representative from AETNA contacted Nicole about giving NYU med students a talk on managed care. The issue has been referred to the AMA president at our school to handle.
Anuja - Anuja would like to put together a student host program for prospective med students. She will send out more information via e-mail.
