Fishbowl: Complaints have been received regarding the Fishbowl. Medical students have been told that it is a graduate student study space/lounge and that medical students are not welcome to study there. The multitude of signs proclaiming the space as being for Sackler students also makes it imposing to enter. Eric will speak with Dr. Oppenheim about the situation.
Administrative Duties to Bring to Joe Oppedisano: The following are administrative duties that have been done by Student Council members that we will present to Joe in his capacity as assistant to Dean Lesser:
Skirball Pets Rule: There was a complaint by a student living in Skirball about pets running free in the hallways of Skirball. Council will offer support for a Tenant Advisory from the Housing Office condemning pets running free in the halls.
Lottery for Sub-Internship: The MD/PhD representatives expressed concern for the system of choose sites for Sub-I's. They claim that the system that has been set up in the past has denied them a real chance of obtaining Bellevue for their Sub-I's. The recent renovations to the Clerkship Lottery have called for a lottery prior to the Sub-I for sites as opposed to the old system where students were assigned based on how early in the clerkship lottery they selected a Sub-I. The new system should enable MD/PhD's a fair shot at obtaining different Sub-I sites. This discussion will be continued next week.
