New Items:
  1. Housing Meeting Housing agreed to allow students to obtain additional keys and have the option not to have their locks changed to avoid the cost of replacement. Students choosing this option will have to sign a waiver relieving housing of responsibility if their rooms are broken into; it was pointed out that on the lease, housing is not responsible if rooms are broken into anyway.
  2. Upcoming Housing Meeting Meeting will address housing lottery. Lottery will be run as before, with staggered timing to allow the waitlist for each class clear before the next segment begins. The waitlist will be continuous, prioritized according to lottery number, and will be frozen for one day after each segment to allow people time to decide whether or not to be on it.

On the student council housing policy, the term "higher" was replaced by "seniority" or "better" for clarification.

Clarifications were also made regarding married student housing. First priority will be given to students that are currently married and to registered domestic partners. Next priority will be given to engaged couples that will be married in the academic year for which they are seeking married student housing. Proof of marriage will have to be supplied at some point during that year. Fraud will result in loss of housing privileges for the next year.

Finally, the pool of apartments being made available to students is changing. The number of higher quality apartments in Skirball that are available to students was reduced from previous years; at the meeting, it will be requested that a list of apartments currently occupied by students be made and that the number of high quality apartments be maintained at least at their current level.

The results of this meeting will be brought back to student council next week before any final decisions are made.

  3. Mental Status Next issue is due out Dec 11, deadline for submissions is Dec 7. Deowall is the only one who offered to stuff mailboxes for 3rd and 4th yrs, so instead of stuffing, copies will be made available in piles at each of the following locations: Rubin Guard Desk (200), Greenberg Lobby (200), Skirball Lobby (100), and Library (200).
  4. Bus Schedule Not clear on whether or not New Shuttle is in Operation. Jason will obtain an updated schedule from downtown by next meeting.
  5. Sweatshirts Sarita got information from the company Harmony used last year but their prices were too high and their quality was not great. We were unable to track down the company Mike used, so Nayan said he might know of a company to call.
  6. Maintenance The cleaning of the cafeteria on the weekends is the responsibility of York, so Sarita will report the problems to Dean Scotch.
