Switch party is Nov.5 at Lava and is only for third and fourth year students.
NYU Med School/Law School event has been postponed -- will not be on Nov. 11.
There will be a class meeting in November regarding Dean’s letters, etc. Dean Catanese will attend.
Deb and Nicole will have site preference forms worked out by late November. Stay tuned.
Class of 2002
There will be class meeting on Nov. 18 at 5:30 in the student cafeteria.
Class of 2002 wants to thank everyone who came to the party at the KIT-KAT CLUB on Friday, Oct. 29. It was a huge success.
Class of 2003
MD/PhD
Dr Ronald Kahn, a Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School,
Director, Joslin Diabetes Center and member of the National Academy of Sciences will give a short talk on "How to pick a research project", as part of the MD/PhD career options dinner series. It will take place on Nov. 9 at 6:30 in the FDR.
The MD/PhD program wishes its beloved, David Poppers, a very
happy birthday.
Tom’s Proposal - Brian will be looking over proposals to remove inefficiencies in the medical school.
Student Health & Insurance - Brian attended a meeting with many people involved in student health and insurance. It looks like things will improve.
Funding from downtown (from the Student Affairs Budget Advisory Committee) - Shirley requested that all class officers look into fundable activities so as to augment our budget.
Nov. 23 Student Council Meeting will be canceled.
Creative Writing Club - Their budget request was looked over and the club was granted money towards bulletin board and office supplies. The request for money towards publishing fees for their magazine was amended to an IOI. These decisions were approved 15-1-2 (for-opposed-abstain).
Basic Science Sub-Committee - The class officers ranked the essays that were handed in by first year students wishing to be on the committee. Brian will tally up the votes and Sean will contact those who were chosen.
CORE - The first meeting of this recently reinstated committee will take place on Tue., Nov. 9 at 5:00 pm.
