The Match will take place on March 16 at 12 noon. Seniors will be meeting outside Farkas auditorium. There will be a match party later that evening from 8:30-11:30. There will be an open bar and snacks. If you want to bring guests it will cost you $15 per guest if you pay in advance, $25 at the door and you will be allowed only 2 guests per person. Invitations will be sent out next week. RSVP the invites to Don and Carol. The deadline is March 6.
Seniors will be able to order commencement tickets over touch tone telephone beginning March 20.
Class of 2001
Sub-I sites are posted on the Student Council bulletin board. Make sure to have a look.
Thursday, 3/9, is last day to turn in elective lottery forms.
On March 21 there will be a town hall meeting for the class of 2001. Dean Glickman will be attending.
On March 30 there will be a class meeting with members of the class of 2000.
Class of 2002
Lottery numbers will be given out this Friday, March 3.
Felix is working on putting together the elective catalogue.
Felix is also working on increasing the number of slots in the first few blocks.
Class of 2002 housing lottery will take place at 8:30am on March 15.
Class elections for next year will be held on April 10 at 6:30pm. The room has yet to be announced.
Class of 2003
Class elections will be held on April 5 in AHB at 6pm. We hope to see you all there.
Class of 2003 housing lottery is taking place on March 31 at 3pm.
MD/PhD
The greater New York MD/PhD conference will be taking place soon. Sign up and contact Jeremy (not Dave) with questions.
Email Brief Update - The new email system is ready to go and tentatively planned to start on March 15. Students will be hearing more about it very shortly.
Remember that the Spring Formal date is fast approaching! Get your tickets at Don and Carol's office ASAP.
Rubin Gym - Things are looking good for the gym. Manish has been working on renovation plans and the floor looks like it might cleaned soon. (Yay!)
Outing Club - The Outing Club came to the meeting to ask for extra money for their paintballing event (which is very popular). Student Council voted on giving them $500 dollars. 8-4-7 (for-against-abstain).
Shirley (Downtown) - Shirley brought a number of issues that the student senators are discussing to the meeting.
- The all university Violet Ball will be happening soon. Stay tuned for details.
-NYU medical students might have to get the main NYU card to gain access to the library and buses. More info on this later.
-Workers' Rights Consortium - The school is going to be looking into regulating who makes clothing with the NYU logo on them.
- Recent fires in other schools' dorms have led the university to try and step up fire safety in both the undergraduate and graduate housing.
-The university is also discussing how much of a role students should have in budgetary advising. They are going try and set a standard across every school in the university.
-Applications are now available for 7 student senators at large positions. Shirley will be sending out an email and should be contacted with any questions. The deadline is March 29, 2000.
