MD/PhD
MD/PhD David did an excellent job arranging the research retreat at Killington Vt. last weekend. It was a perfect mixture of education and fun. He thanks everyone who helped in setting up the trip. Too bad to those who missed it.

Old Business:

BALSA: Student Council voted 8-2-6 (for-against-abstain) to approve an additional $600 for Balsa "entertainer".

Mental Status: Mental Status articles are due this Friday, Feb. 26th. E-mail Demetre at daskad01@popmail.med.nyu.edu.

New Business:

Housing: About a dozen people missed the deadline to sign up for the lottery. They will have an opportunity to get in off of the wait list. The deadline was clearly delineated in the letter that went out with the housing packet which was signed by both the housing office and the council therefore no exceptions can be made.

Housing, Take 2: Third year MD/PhDs were erroneously left off the housing lottery draft. However, because there are extra numbers left they were added to the list by drawing the remaining numbers. Therefore, because all numbers were valid random numbers there will be no redraw and the numbers remain as drawn.

Library: As a follow up to the visit a few weeks ago from Stuart and Carol from the library, Stuart Spore has informed us that e-mail stations can not be added outside of Alumni Hall C because it is a fire code violation. He has also offered to look into putting a printer in Coles, but has stated that the library would like the students to be responsible for supplying and upkeeping paper and cartridges. He is awaiting our reply.

Faculty Council: Dr. Bogart has invited some Student Council members to meet with the faculty council in late April to discuss the curriculum among other things. Current class presidents and past/present student council presidents are requested to attend.

AAMC/OSR: Demetre's report on the AAMC/OSR. In the future rank order list for matching will be done on the computer. Med-Careers is now used at 30 medical schools but not NYU. His Draw-The-Line program will be available this year. It has been requested by 70 medical schools including NYU. Congrats Demetre.

LCME Student Survey: Student surveys are complete. The survey was administered to the council members so that they can help in giving out the survey to their classes.

By-Law Amendments: Tabled due to time.
