Class Announcements

Class of 2000
For those of you who are doing your sub-Is and are currently working on the night of the Match Party, Mike says that the chief residents will be contacted and hopefully coaxed into letting have the night off.

The Match will take place on March 16 at 12 noon. Seniors will be meeting outside Farkas auditorium. There will be a match party later that evening from 8:30-11:30. There will be an open bar and snacks. If you want to bring guests it will cost you $15 per guest if you pay in advance, $25 at the door and you will be allowed only 2 guests per person. Invitations will be sent out next week. RSVP the invites to Don and Carol. The deadline is March 6.

People should confirm and pick up their ACLS training course materials at Bellevue. If you do not confirm your date then you will be dropped from the class. You have up to 10 days before the class starts to confirm. Also, if you confirm your date and then decide not to show up $300 will be billed to your bursar account. The office at Bellevue is open from 8-4.

Old Business:

Spring Formal - The formal will be on March 17. Please pre-pay at Don and Carol's.

LCME - The issues in the LCME report that were not sent to CORE to take care of have been distributed to the various committees that they need to go to. Some of the issues we hope to see future progress in include recruiting more minority students, dealing with more women's studies, having better support and advisory systems, etc.

New Business:

Patrick Reinfried (SIGN) - A new student group called SIGN (Student Interest Group in Neurology) was approved 17-0-2 (for-against-abstain). The group is affiliated with the American Academy of Neurology with many chapters in various med schools in the US. SIGN is geared towards helping med students learn more about careers in neurology and facilitating med students' interactions with neurology residents and faculty. Contact Patrick with questions.
