MD/PhD
The MD/PhD program wishes to congratulate Mary Pao and Tony Aliprantis on successfully defending their thesises.
Ski-Trip - Some second year students voiced their concerns about the ski trip attendees being predominantly first year students. Student Council discussed ways (like maybe hosting another trip) to appease some of those disgruntled people. A decision was deferred until the Jan. 26 student council meeting.
Pancake Dinner - The Pancake Dinner will occur on Feb. 9 at 6:00 pm in the student cafeteria. It will cost a donation of $5.
Clothing Sale - The clothing sale will take place during the Pancake dinner. Most of the clothing is odd-sized and the NYU logos are a little outdated. All the money made off the sale will go directly to charity.
Delong Art Exhibit 20th - On Thursday, Jan. 20 people will be coming in to hang artwork in Alumni Hall C. All students are invited to come check it out.
Nicole - Nicole will put 6 or 7 CVs and 4 personal statements on the web. Student council thought that students might find this helpful.
Lee - Budget update - Lee gave student council a brief overview of where we are in terms of spending for the current academic school year.
Housing - On a positive note - there will be a new ping pong table put in Rubin Lounge. On a negative note - expect a 3% increase in rent for next year.
Spring Formal - Manish has been putting together the formal. Student council discussed places and prices. It will take place in early April. Keep your eyes and ears peeled.
